We all get depressed at one time or other --- just because --- a breakup of a friendship or personal relationship --- things not going the way we would like in our lives, etc.
I friend of mine who goes to a therapist told me about something that the therapist had her do. It is a Depression Buster Toolbox!! When she gets the Negative thoughts, the Panic or wants to go for the ‘Lung Rockets’(Cigarettes for those who don’t smoke!!) she has the Toolbox to help her in the recovery of depression and back to Positive Thinking and Positive Thinking Techniques! I have been using it and, believe me, it works!
Here are some things that I have in my Toolbox to fall back on when those Negative moments come barging in, generally at the most inopportune times!! and help be to get going on the Positive Thinking!
Have a friend that you can always rely on ---- we all need ONE good friend! Have the phone # memorized in your head so that you can get hold of him/her at any time! And Reciprocate! --- Be ‘there’ for a friend!
Always have a good book or magazine that you can dive into! If you are trying to stay away from the Booze or the Cigs, keep a book to grab or small candy bars of Dark Chocolate --- eat slowly and enjoy!
Know what the times are in your day that you ‘Crave’ whatever is your downfall --- food --- alcohol --- cigarettes ---- and be prepared to have the things that are going to keep you from Downfalling! Even if you have All of the things that you need to help you --- if you do not use them then all the preparation is going to be for naught!
It is really sooo hard when you are addicted to something and you have all these people telling you that you can Stop anytime you want! Not! They are not Addicted soo how do they know!?!
Fiqure out what is Best for You! Work at it Everyday and always know that there are people that you can ‘lean’ on if you need! E-mail me anytime --- just make sure you put “Blog’ in the Subject line or I might delete it!
