In the last three years, I have broken my femur in four places, had a total hip replacement and broken my knee! Let me tell you how that messes with your weight! You can’t walk, you can’t exercise, and because you are depressed, you want to eat!! Does this sound familiar?!?
Now, what do we do about it???
Positive Thinking is very powerful and is in your control! Positive Thinking Techniques can help in eating right and being active, even if you are physically disabled. If you can set Positive Thinking goals like, “I am not going to eat any kind of chips today” and do it! You have taken control!
One little step at a time, because if you try to take Giant steps you are going to fail!, Because you can’t do it ‘yesterday’! The Negative monster starts raising it’s ugly head and thoughts like, “I don’t have enough time to exercise.”, “No matter what I do, it isn’t going to work.” starts going on in your mind and It’s done! Your good intentions have just flown out the window!
If you can set your mind to do something you really want to do --- you can do it! Your Self-esteem has a lot to do with it! Again, don’t let the naysayers get your ‘goat’! Even if you have tried before to lose weight and you have backslid --- it’s O.K.! --- get up and go on ---- this time just don’t be soo hard on yourself! Find your favorite vegetables, get a cookbook that has good, tasty
Low calorie dishes and take your time. Exercise in whatever arena is good for you! Walking, swimming, going to the gym or sitting on the couch and doing upper exercises with your arms and standing by the kitchen counter and doing lower exercises with you legs. Remember High School!, Gym! Exercises!
